We Have a New Missionary!

Joseph Michael Martin was born April 3rd at 5:57am, weighing in at a fighting 9lbs 11ozs, and 20 1/2 inches long.  He looks a lot like his oldest sister Theresa. Both Momma and baby are doing great.  Bridget was induced on April 2nd, 1 week after her due date, after going to the doctors office for an ultrasound and discovering the baby was measuring about 10lbs and our doctor scheduled to leave for the weekend.  After being put on pitocin for several hours, the doc came in and broke her water hoping to progress rapidly from there.  After several hours and progressing slowly with intense contractions, the doctor backed her off the pitocin to see if her body would kick in naturally. Continuing to progress slowly the nurse put Bridget back on Pitocin at low amounts towards the morning.  After a painful couple of hours she was finally at a place where she could begin pushing.  Little Joseph made his grand arrival healthy and mostly happy!  We plan to stay in Louisiana until we can get the birth certificate and passport before returning to Mexico.  Thank you for all your prayers.  Please continue to pray for momma and the baby.
