JERICHO PROJECT: DAY 7

trumpet

Day 7, it’s been quite a week!  I really felt like the Lord was blessing us today.  We gathered for morning prayer this morning only to be interrupted by a band marching down the street, playing their drums and blowing their trumpets!  When we went out to pray our final rosary there was a young man named Francisco playing his trumpet as we walked around the plaza!

“And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, “Shout; for the Lord has given you the city” – Joshua 6:16

When the people marched around the walls of Jericho, on the seventh day, the priests blew the trumpets and Joshua gave the command to shout and the walls came tumbling down.

On top of this blessing, we had two men come to our rancho visit tonight! I’ve also been really blessed by the relationships we have been able to build with our friends Gonzalo, Pancho and Sergio, who help us in our construction projects.  They have all three agreed to join us when we start up our Bible Study next week, not to mention two of them are going with us in a couple weeks to a mens retreat called La Escuela de la Cruz (The School of the Cross).

Today we were also able to finish one of our work projects where we put in a new floor and fixed a roof from leaking for a family that we hope to help receive the sacraments especially getting their marriage blessed in the Church.   It’s been a blessing to finish our Jericho Project with the group that is here.  What has been even more of a blessing is the almost 200 people who have joined us this week in prayer and fasting!  Thank you all so much.  I know that God blessed our efforts this week.  Tonight I preached in the rancho about how we serve and follow a God who desires to answer our prayers, and that all we need to do is ask and believe.  “Therefore whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you receive it and you will.” (Mark 11:24-25)

I believe that God moved mountains this week not only in the hearts of the men in General Cepeda, but also in the hearts of men in our lives.  Brothers, fathers, husbands, sons men’s hearts were transformed this week.  It may not show tomorrow, but I have to remember it took 7 days marching around a city.  It’s going to take more than just a month and a half of being here to really see the fruit of what God has done.  Again, thank you to all who joined us in this effort!  We look forward to sharing with you all the Glory that will come because of your prayer and fasting!  Please continue to pray for us, this mission and the men of General Cepeda.  ALL FOR LOVE!
